2008 Kaufmann Award Success for design students

The Faculty of Arts yeat again this year have secured the national places for the Kaufmann Global Flying Start programme, only this time its a double. Lyndsey Bond (MDes) and Shauna Ward (BDes) swooped the only 2 Northern Ireland places to take part in a one year programme to develo their product ideas towards reality. Shauna's 'reading eye' product proposes to assist thoase with severe visual imparement to read via wireless audio devices and scanning sensors. Lyndsey have proposed an innovative range of products to help develop childrens awareness of emotions, which is now part of the key curriculum goals in primary schools.
