There are a number of project briefs to choose from covering different aspects of 3D design, relating to interaction design, product development , packaging design and virtual 3D. These are outlined as follows.

Seating Matters:


DES514-2011- week 12 seminars

Final year 3D students,

there will be a group seminar on Friday 10th December starting at 1:15pm sharp. At this point you will be expected to show the latest images of your work to date. These can include both digital and print presentations, but must include a digital presentation. There is no specific format (i.e. Pecha Kucha), but keep it concise. I am expecting to see some significant developments using 3DSMAX. Please ensure you have the following with you:

Please Note: I am the faculty Coordinator for Academic Enterprise and as part of this role will on occasion be away on business. In the event of this coinciding with your classes a colleague will be available to teach. Classes will not normally be canceled.

DES514M1-2008-Dare-to-be-Digital

Dare to be Digital is a global games competition supported by Industry, Government and Research funding. The 2007 competition is over but 2008 will be launched next semester. In preparation for this the we decided that both Creative Arts and Computing and Intelligent systems will plan early. It is a team competition and require cross disciplinary collaboration (including 2D, 3D and /or 4D designers, sound/ music experts and computer programmers). At

DES514M1-2008-T.R.E.E. live brief

T.R.E.E. are a small social enterprise company in Belfast. They have an in house chainsaw artist who produces much of the work along side some apprentice and placement students from the local community. They make and sell items of garden furniture or decorations influenced by nature.
