Dare to be Digital is a global games competition supported by
Industry, Government and Research funding. The 2007 competition is over but
2008 will be launched next semester. In preparation for this the we decided
that both Creative Arts and Computing and Intelligent systems will plan early. It
is a team competition and require cross disciplinary collaboration (including
2D, 3D and /or 4D designers, sound/ music experts and computer programmers). At

flow is an issue for most of today's cities. There are differences from one
city to another in terms of topography, city planning, traffic flow planning or
even local culture, but all cities share the problem of goods delivery. Besides their differences, cities often have similar issues:
increasing urbanisation and urban density, out-dated equipment, expanding
service sectors... Added to this, development is often restricted due to the

Derry City is full of history, often shrouded in politics, however behind the flags and banners are real people with a heritage of challenging lifestyles and events intertwined to the existance of the walls.

T.R.E.E. are a small social enterprise company in Belfast. They have an in house chainsaw artist who produces much of the work along side some apprentice and placement students from the local community. They make and sell items of garden furniture or decorations influenced by nature.

Overview
This module explores student-led innovation approaches in 3D worlds for either virtual or real products. Some suggested project themes will be offered as a guide, but you are expected to research and develop a project that engages in innovation. Emphasis is place on your ability to be inventive and in the clear communication of those ideas.

Please Note: I am the faculty Coordinator for Academic Enterprise and as part of this role will on occasion be away on business. In the event of this coinciding with your classes a colleague will be available to teach. Classes will not normally be canceled.

Please Note: I expect to be on a short period of paternity leave towards the end of the semester (Mid- late November) at which time another lecturer in 3D design will take over. It is imperative that all design planning and proposals reach their final outcomes for Week 8 leaving only the implementation thereafter.
