The project brief should be no longer than 2 pages - if clearly understood, you should be able to describe the idea succinctly.
We realise that across the two groups of students there will be a variety of projects and while we don't want to be too prescriptive about the types of projects coming forward, you should endeavour to include as many of the details below in your documentation:

  1. A little information about you and/or the team (1 paragraph)
  2. What is the idea/problem that you're addressing?
  3. Project context and/or research
  4. If a product or service, how is your product/service different?
  5. If a product or service: a) where b) who is the market?
  6. Are there other skills needed e.g. graphic design, video, coding
  7. Project development schedule

Use Design process throughout this module

Submission of Project Brief (17th January 2012)
Week 1

You have a time limit of 6 minutes 40 seconds to make you presentation. You can use either the standard Pecha-Kucha style presentation or by integrating prezi adapting the time duration of each slide (ensure you do not go over the time limit). You will present to a team of design staff who will consider appropriate supervision for your project.

Set your slide transition in power point to automatic and save file as power point show (.pps) or .pdf format if choosing Petcha Kucha.

For prezi's, attempt to download the files and bring on a memory stick for submission. Check on at least 2 machines before you arrive for your presentation.

See groups and schedule here

Pecha Kucha style presentation using digital methods should summarise:

  • Project name
  • What is your idea/ What problem(s) are you attempting to solve?
  • Research goals, aims and objectives
  • Initial research findings historical examples and context
  • Provide a state of the art overview/ other innovative approches to the same problem with visual examples
  • Your initial response: Inspirations/ moods and themes/ novel ideas?
  • Your personal aspiration and individual creative approach
