If work is submitted / presented late on the day of submission, 20% penalty will be applied. this is part of you training in professional skills – always be on time!

  1. Introduction to module (read project brief)

  • Buy A3 marker pad, biro, blue pencil + selection of good quality colour pencils.

  1. Projects: Organise categories by project- prepare for anthropometrics study in groups of 2 of three or four (1 hour)- Anthropometric handouts included.
  2. Present drawings - full scale (lining paper) identifying heights and other dimensions

Introduction to Engineering Drawing BS308

Task: Graphite and export to cobalt > illustrator

Applying dimensions to BS308 standard. Setting up a drawing for print or export.

Generate ergonomic manikins in Graphite for 95%ile male, 5%ile female and yourself. You must calculate what %ile you are.

Week 3

Speed drg class- 45 mins

Reverse engineering methods (1 hour workshop)

Introduction to expression form task (30 mins)

Lecture/ seminar on gender and attitude in products characters and 3D forms (1 hour)

Expression Form Exhibition and peer assessment!

Final model to be submitted

Expression Form Exhibition- these 3D outcomes will take part in a race for success. They will be positioned on a table in order of perceived success as assessed by the class and tutors.

Design Implementation Critiques

All work will be assessed by presentation and CD submission. Assessment times and details to follow.

Work must be presented within a professional portfolio case. All sketch books should be neatly bound.
