NB. In Reference to Critiques: If the work is not submitted or presented (if required) for each of the deadlines, 0% will be recorded. Critiques are design examinations.

If work is submitted / presented late on the day of submission, 20% penalty will be applied. this is part of you training in professional skills – always be on time!

You are also expected to attend class on time- It starts at 09:15 sharp.

  • Buy a tape measure and steel ruler

Task List for week 3: Design Context

  • Select project Brief
  • Get used to the 3DMAX interface
  • Bring in Sketch book and Pen/pencils for speed drawing

Prepare a short presentation for project brief for a casual open discussion in week 2- This will involve random presentations (Designer Roulette) from individuals in class, so ensure you attend and have the work completed. Work should take the form of visual imagery carefully stuck into an A4 hardback boklet and/or photographs or examples of physical props.

 

These classes are selected to assist you in completing the 3D modelling tasks set each week. The tutorials which you must complete form part of your coursework submission.

09:15 Transitional Form AND Visual Imaging Critique 10% of Final marks

Prepare a 5 min multimedia presentation which includes examples of sketchwork (scanned) and any 3D sketch models which have assisted you in developing your projects. Show the 3 final visual imaging computer models describing the rationale used to achieve the visual effect. Show the final transitional form using digital modelling and describe how you have captured its theme with form.

Design Implementation Assessment

This will be by submission of work

All work will be assessed by presentation and CD submission. Assessment times and details to follow.

Work must be presented within a professional portfolio case. All sketch books should be neatly bound.
