Overview
This module introduces students to the world of 3d design. It explores general form based study and visual imaging effects on form. It identifies gender in form and how to apply it to set project briefs. It specifically identifies the specialsism of Product design or Character development and introduces the systematic design process associated.
There are several short projects and a major project, which must be completed, all with tight deadlines.
Coursework Details
- Speed Drawing : This is a studio class which will be assessed. During semester a speed drawing class will be conducted. This will improve your ability to communicate as a designer using the narrative of line drawing.
- Body-space envelopes : This study focuses on the definition of anthropometric drawings used in ergonomics more>>
- Expression Form: 3D forms can have different personalities and indeed gender. This study will allow you to experiment with form and precoption of that form. more>>
- Major Project: You will learn about the deisgn process which is the single most important aspect of being a designer in any discipline.
The focus of this module will be based on a final project submission that will address all the skills attained to date. This project will address the basics of the 3D design process and assist in developing a portfolio piece click more>> for major project
