Design and science collaborations take another step forward in solving health issues by design. Prof Neville McClenaghan (Head of School Biomedical Sciences) and Dr Justin Magee (Subject Director for Design) have lead another successful bid for Proof of Principle (POP) awards from the Office of Innovation at Ulster. They will lead a team of designers and clinicians on a 3-4 day design hot house event during May 2011 at C-TRIC based at the Altnagelvin Area Hospital. Clinical staff will include Mark Gillespie and Brian McFetridge who are nursing staff and the design team will include Justin Magee, Stephen McGilloway, Michael Evason, Gareth Ladley (product design), Terry Quigley and Padraic Lynch (Graphics), Mark Cullen, Conann Fitzpatrick, Justin Magee and Terry Quigley (3D visualisation and virtual prototyping).The award was worth £7.5K.
