Jane Jacobs refered to design as Design is People. Design is indeed about people and therefore often tested on people. In this regard we must be careful on protocol. The University of Ulster have strict protocols on Research Governance and Ethical approval.

In addition there are a number of forms which we require to complete before conducting certain activity. I sit on the Filter committee for Reseach Ethics and Governance for the Faclty of Arts. We use these forms to advise on best practive within staff and student research topics.
We use the RG1 forms to assess your proposals and to ensure you extract useful information from your studies. These include
