Transitional Form

The transitional form brief  enables students to comprehend how different 3D sectional shapes relate to each other within a 3D form. All models must be precision modelled to 0.001mm tolerance.

Select 3 shapes from those illustrated in Figure 1. They can be positioned at any of the 3 locations on the cuboid form illustrated in Figure 2. Use the profiles identified in black. You must also choose a styling theme from the the list below. The styling theme provides an identify for you to visualise. To begin you must develop a sketch book (or a series of sketch models) of possible iterations for the same layout and combination of shapes. They must be placed precisely at these locations.

The chosen designs will then be modelled in 3DSMAX. To assist you the following adobe illustrator file has been provided. It is zipped using winrar, so will need extracting.  You must import this file into 3DSMAX and then align the shapes in the world space.
