Philip Murphy (year 2 BDes) has successfully gained a place on the NESTA Starter for Six programme.
Philip has designed an ‘Eazi-grip’ for people that suffer from rheumatoid arthritis as part of his 3D design study - Philip received 1st prize in the 2006/07 Innovation Generation competition funded by HEIF 8 and hasn’t stopped there.
The Starter for Six programme has been devised to support innovative enterprise in science, technology and the creative industries. The programme offers 4 days of NESTA bespoke training (1 day per month) during March- June in Scotland supported by telephone coaching and mentoring. At the end of the programme all participants will have a business plan which they will have taken from business idea/vision to reality.
Phillip’s participation on the programme will be as the sole representative from Northern Ireland. He will be joining 67 participants who have been selected from across Scotland. NESTA will pay his travel expenses to/from Scotland and will use his experience to inform them as to how they should tailor this new programme to meet the needs of entrepreneurs in Northern Ireland - both at undergraduate and graduate level.
Well done Phil.
