This is a great opportunity for Ulster students who are entrepreneurial and are maybe thinking of setting up their own business. It's the Belfast Enterprise Academy programme run by Belfast City Council.
To be eligible students must be studying for a degree, must live in Belfast, available for the sessions and interest in setting up own business.
The programme is FREE and consists of:
- A two day residential session with the other students including entrepreneurial skills assessment, high ropes course and business challenge
- 4 business session (1 a month) on Marketing, finance, legal and creativity/idea development
- 2 business visits
- 2 days direct one to one mentoring (this is 2 days of mentoring spread over the months, where the student works directly with various mentors to develop their business. The student and mentors agree when and where and what topics they need the support on.
This is all spread over time period from October to March, so it doesn’t interfere too much.
This is open to Ulster, QUB, Belfast Met and St. Mary’s. Places are limited to just 20.
HOW TO APPLY – NOTE CLOSING DATE 11TH OCTOBER
Simply fill in the form online and this is an expression of interest (link below). Then there will be an introduction session in the Belfast Campus on 12th October from about 1-2.30 (time and room tbc). At this session, Helen Keys the programme co-ordinator will outline the programme, this will give the students a chance to get more info and decide if it’s something they want to do. And Helen will talk to each person individually and answer any questions.
